The OIYPP Annual Gatherings are two days of engaging, fun and informative collaboration. They provide unique opportunities for all participants in OIYPP - youth, mentors, youth advisors and supporters - to strengthen connections, build bridges and broaden their skills and experiences.
The gatherings have the collective outcomes to:
- Create a space for relationship building among all participants (youth, mentors, youth advisors, partners and supporters)
- Create a space for shared learning among all participants in the spirit of reconciliation and reciprocity
- Acknowledge the skills and abilities each person brings and provide youth and mentors the opportunity to better understand these skills and build new skills in support of their projects
These outcomes have been developed by seeking important input from youth advisors, and youth and mentors leading projects. The intention is that the voices and ideas of youth and mentors can shape this time together. Additionally, we aim to ensure that Indigenous youth leaders facilitate our Gatherings, with key roles for an Indigenous youth facilitator and the OIYPP Youth Advisory Committee throughout the Gathering.
